Public reviews and memory photos
You can submit a review with or without an account. We collect the public name you choose, your rating, review, optional photos and permission to publish. The MOAI team reviews this content before publication. Approval is moderation; it does not verify a purchase, attendance or the reviewer’s identity.
Approved reviews and attached photos are public. The homepage shows up to 15 recent approved reviews. Pending and rejected submissions are available only to authorised administrators and, for account submissions, the person who submitted them. Please obtain permission from people pictured and avoid sensitive information.
You can withdraw an account review from Share feedback. For a visitor review, reopen Write a review and use Your reviews from this browser. This uses a private removal token stored in that browser. If you lose access to it, contact support@moaitribe.com. A review is removed from public display on withdrawal, and its photos are removed through our storage cleanup. Existing short-lived photo links can remain valid for up to one minute.
We keep reviews while needed for moderation or their publication, until withdrawal or a justified removal request. Account review records are deleted with their account. Guest reviews are not automatically linked to a later account. Abuse protection uses a daily pseudonymous network identifier; these rate-limit records expire after two days. Processing the submission and moderation supports your request to share feedback; public publication uses the permission you give in the form, which you can withdraw.

This policy covers our iOS app, website, member platform, waitlist, and support correspondence. It explains the current service, including sign-in with Google or Apple when available.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, account identifier, sign-in method, email verification status, and sign-in timestamps. Email accounts also use credentials managed by our authentication provider.
- Your profile and preferences: your display name, profile photo, city, country and region, short introduction, date of birth or age range, interests, languages, availability, time zone, social preferences, activity budget, and any optional context or skills you choose to share. In the iOS app this includes your answers to the joining questions: your social rhythm, what you’re into, what you’d do on a free Saturday and which example experiences you’d go to.
- Circle activity: invitations, membership decisions, gathering plans and locations, RSVPs, attendance, private feedback, event cover photos, saved or skipped experiences, private event-group messages, host conversations, host reviews, private host feedback, private Vibe Ratings, reports, blocks, and Give / Need posts and replies.
- Waitlist and support: your name, email, optional city and interest, and the information you send us when asking for help.
- Host and brand applications: your name, email, proposed city, event idea or partnership message, and any brand name or website you provide. We use these details to review and respond to your request. Applications are visible to MOAI administrators, not other members.
- Technical information: our hosting and authentication services process connection and security information, such as IP addresses, browser details, request timestamps, and error logs. When the website or app runs into a problem, MOAI also keeps an error report: what went wrong, on which page, your browser or device type and, if you are signed in, your account ID. Reports never include your password, sign-in codes or messages.
You can select your location manually. In the iOS app, you may also grant one-time location access to find experiences nearby. Device coordinates are rounded to approximately neighbourhood level before being sent to MOAI for discovery; they are not stored as a personal location history. Apple processes location and place-search requests when you use those system services. We may initially suggest a time zone from your browser settings. A host can supply an exact event meeting address, which is stored separately from the public event description. Please do not include identity documents, payment-card information, medical records, or other sensitive personal information in your profile or circle posts.
Google and Apple sign-in
If you choose Google sign-in, Google supplies basic account information, such as your account identifier, email, name, and profile picture when provided. Supabase processes this information to authenticate you and maintain your MOAI account. We do not receive your Google password or request access to your Gmail messages, contacts, calendar, or Drive files.
We use Google account data for sign-in, account administration, and the associated security and support functions described here. We do not sell that data or use it for advertising. MOAI Tribe’s use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements where applicable.
Apple sign-in works similarly and may provide a private relay email address. Google and Apple also process data under their own privacy policies. You can revoke MOAI’s access in your provider’s account settings. Revoking access does not itself delete your MOAI account; use Profile → Settings → Delete account in the app, or contact us to request deletion.
How and why we use information
Where the GDPR applies, we use the following legal bases:
- Providing the service you request: creating and securing your account, saving your preferences, considering suitable circles, managing invitations, and enabling plans and circle discussions, recording attendance and trust signals, and handling member-submitted photos and event logistics.
- Legitimate interests: preventing abuse, investigating technical problems or safety reports, administering our community, and understanding aggregate participation. We consider the impact on your rights and you may object to this processing.
- Your consent: sending the MOAI news and launch updates you request by joining the waitlist, and accessing your device location when you grant permission. You can withdraw this consent by contacting us or using an unsubscribe link where provided. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful use.
- Legal obligations: responding to valid legal requests and keeping records that applicable law requires.
We use your city, interests, language, availability, social preferences and joining answers to show the experiences that suit you first. Every other experience stays available after them. Private feedback and Vibe Ratings help us improve future curation; individual incoming Vibe Ratings are never a public popularity score. Required account and onboarding fields are needed to provide their associated features. Optional fields can be left blank. Our team considers circle invitations, and you choose whether to accept. We do not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who can see your information
Your profile and preferences are available to you and authorised MOAI administrators. When you ask to join an event, its host and MOAI’s event managers can see your profile to decide: your photo, name, email address, city, age range, languages, introduction, interests, what you are looking for, your answers from joining in the app, and how many events you have had a place at or host. A profile photo and a short introduction are needed to ask to join. Individual Vibe Ratings, private host notes and safety reports are not shown to other members. Administrators also have account and participation information needed to operate the community.
In the app, public experience pages show the host, not the attendee list. Hosts can see limited applicant profiles and attendance/trust summaries when deciding requests. Accepted members of a specific event can see first names, photos and lightweight introductions within its private group. Exact meeting details are limited to accepted attendees, the host team and authorised administrators. Private host conversations are limited to their permitted participants. Verified host reviews are public. The website's accepted circles also share basic profiles, plans and posts. Account email, birthday, private ratings and reports are not displayed in member lists. Uploaded profile and event images are served through public image URLs; anyone who receives an image URL can view the image. Do not upload confidential photos or documents.
People may copy information they can view. Avoid posting another person’s private information without permission. If you join our separate WhatsApp community or follow an external social link, that service’s privacy rules and visibility settings apply; other WhatsApp participants may be able to see your phone number and profile.
Service providers and international processing
We use Supabase for authentication, database, file storage and backend services, Vercel for website hosting and delivery, and email services for account messages and support correspondence. Our support mailbox is provided through GoDaddy’s email service. Google and Apple provide their respective sign-in services when you choose them. These providers receive the information needed for the functions they perform.
Our operator is based in India. Providers and their service partners may also process information in other countries, including the United States and countries in Europe. This policy does not promise that all data stays in one country. International processing must follow the protections required by applicable law; where required, these include an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the locations and safeguards applicable to your information.
We may also disclose necessary information where required by law, to protect people or the service, or to professional advisers subject to confidentiality. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies, local storage, and security
We use browser storage to keep you signed in and remember actions such as saved homepage examples or a selected design preview. Clearing browser storage removes those local settings and may sign you out. The iOS app keeps sign-in credentials in the system Keychain and keeps your onboarding answers on your device until you sign in, when they are saved to your account. Sign-in providers may use their own cookies during authentication.
The current app and website do not include advertising trackers or third-party behavioural analytics scripts. We do keep operational participation and activity counts to understand use of MOAI. Hosting and authentication services still process operational logs. Our fonts and location catalog are served with the website.
We use encrypted connections and access controls that limit member data according to account and circle permissions. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your sign-in details and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
Retention and account deletion
We retain account information while your account remains open and the information is needed to provide the service. Circle records support ongoing memberships, plans, and community administration. Waitlist details are kept while needed for the updates you requested. Support and safety records are kept for as long as needed to resolve the matter and meet applicable legal obligations. Error reports are deleted after 14 days.
In the iOS app, open Profile → Settings → Delete account and confirm permanent deletion. This deletes the shared MOAI sign-in account from both the app and website, the profile, stored photos, preferences, personal participation records, private ratings and authored message content. Upcoming experiences owned by the account are cancelled and its places in other events are released. Message placeholders and anonymous event/feedback records may remain to preserve conversation continuity and other members' attendance history. Signing out or leaving a circle does not delete your account. You can also contact support@moaitribe.com for account deletion, waitlist removal, or help with an unsuccessful in-app deletion. Separate support correspondence and any legally required records may need individual review; we explain any justified retention.
If you signed in with Apple, after deleting MOAI also remove MOAI under your Apple Account's Sign in with Apple settings to revoke Apple's remaining permission. Deleting MOAI does not delete your Apple or Google account.
Provider logs and backup copies can follow separate retention and expiry schedules. Data removed from the active service may remain in such copies until they expire or are overwritten. We do not promise an immediate purge from every backup. Contact us for the current details relevant to your request.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can edit your profile and preferences in the member area. Depending on applicable law, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy of your personal data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Send requests to support@moaitribe.com. We may need proportionate information to verify that the request is yours.
Where the GDPR applies, we normally respond within one month. If a permitted extension is necessary, we explain the reason and timing. You can also complain to a data protection authority, including the authority where you live, work, or believe an infringement occurred. Your rights under other applicable privacy laws remain available.
Age requirement and policy changes
MOAI is intended for adults aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
We update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The date above identifies this version. Material changes will be brought to your attention through an appropriate notice. For questions, contact support@moaitribe.com.
